From March 31st to April 1st, the Workshop on "The Future of Brain & Cognition" was held at the Institute of Neuroscience (ION). This workshop was organized by the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO).

　　Dr. Zuoren Wang (Deputy Director and Senior Investigator, ION) and Dr. Sam Linsen (Officer for Science and Technology, Consulate-General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands) gave opening remarks. Mr. Berry Bonenkamp from NWO presented the scope of the CAS-NWO Programme - Joint research projects: The Future of Brain & Cognition. Mr. Yixi Gu from ION introduced the Institute of Neuroscience and the Center for Excellence in Brain Science and Intelligence Technology (CEBSIT).

　　Eight researchers from the Netherlands and ten researchers from CAS institutes presented their research work and proposal for the joint projects.
