During May 19-21, the 4th Academic Review of ION PIs, the 5th International Advisory Board Meeting and the Shanghai Symposium on "Frontier of Neuroscience" were held in Shanghai
On May 19th and 20th, Drs. Xiao-Bing Yuan, Hai-Shan Yao, Zuo-Ren Wang, Xiang Yu, Jiu-Lin Du, You-Sheng Shu, Yi-Zheng Wang and Jia-Wei Zhou attended the 4th Academic Review of ION PIs. The site visit review committee members include: Profs. Tobias Bonhoeffer (Max Planck Institute of Neurobiology), Fred Gage (The Salk Institute for Biological Studies), Takao Hensch (Harvard University), Richard Huganir (Johns Hopkins School of Medicine), Richard Morris (University of Edinburgh), Joshua Sanes (Harvard University), Terrence Sejnowski (The Salk Institute for Biological Studies), Carla Shatz (Stanford University), Charles Stevens (The Salk Institute for Biological Studies), Susuma Tonegawa (MIT). After listening to the presentation of the PIs and having lunch with their graduate students, the reviewers held a close-door discussion. They will issue a formal review report to the ION director.
On May 20th, the 5th International Advisory Board Meeting was held at ION. Drs. Zhen-Ge Luo, Hai-Lan Hu, Xiao-Hui Zhang, Jian-Wei Jiao, Xu Zhang, Le-Ping Cheng, Fu-De Huang, Zhi-Qi Xiong, Ming-Sha Zhang, Wei Wang, Si Wu and Hai-Dong Lu presented their recent research progress to the International Advisory Board. Their presentations were followed by thoughtful comments and discussions from members of the International Advisory Board.
On May 21st, ION organized the Shanghai Symposium on “Frontier of Neuroscience”. Profs. Susuma Tonegawa (MIT), Fred Gage (The Salk Institute for Biological Studies), Joshua Sanes (Harvard University), Takao Hensch (Harvard University), Richard Morris (University of Edinburgh) and Carla Shatz (Stanford University) gave invited talks during this symposium.
