On October 29, 2008, the Science Deans Delegation of the United States visited ION. Delegation members included Prof. Kenneth Furton (Dean of the Chemical and Biochemical Department, Florida International University), Prof. Joanna B Olmsted (Dean of the Biological Department, University of Rochester), Prof. Martha Potvin (Biological Department, University of North Dakota) and Mrs. Dawn Chen (Director of International Advancement, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute). Prof. Mu-Ming Poo, Director of ION, hosted their visit and gave a brief description of current research at ION.
