From May 30 to June 1, the 7th Academic Review of ION PIs and the 8th International Advisory Board Meeting were held in Shanghai.

　　On May 30th and 31th, Drs. XU Jin, SUN Yangang, XU Xiaohong, ZHANG Yifeng, WANG Zheng, GU Yong, WANG Wei participated in the 7th Academic Review of ION PIs. The site visit review committee members included: Profs. Tobias Bonhoeffer (Max Planck Institute of Neurobiology), Nancy Ip (The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology), Lily Jan (University of California at San Francisco), Yuh Nung Jan (University of California at San Francisco), Anthony Movshon (New York University), Nicholas Spitzer (University of California at San Diego),  Michael Stryker (University of California at San Francisco) . After listening to the presentations of the PIs and having lunch with their graduate students, the reviewers held a close-door discussion. They will send a formal review report to the ION director.

　　On the morning of June 1st, Dr. POO Mu-Ming gave the directora€？s report to the International Advisory Board. Then, Drs. CHANG Hungchun, CHENG Leping, HE Jie, YANG Hui, CAI Shiqing,  DORRIS Michael, YANG Tianming, LI Chengyu, XU Ninglong, QIU Zilong presented their recent research progress to the International Advisory Board. Their presentations were followed by thoughtful comments and discussions from members of the Board.

　　In the afternoon of June 1st, Profs. Michael Stryker, Nicholas Spitzer, Anthony Movshon, Tobias Bonhoeffer, Yuh Nung Jan gave talks in the Shanghai Symposium on Frontiers of Neuroscience organized by ION. More than 350 researchers from ION, as well as the nearby institutes or Universities, attended this symposium.
