Neuroscience Bulletin (NB, https://www.springer.com/journal/12264; http://www.neurosci.cn), the official journal of the Chinese Neuroscience Society, is published monthly by Center for Excellence in Brain Science and Intelligence Technology (Institute of Neuroscience), the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), and Springer Nature. The latest impact factor of this journal is 5.271, JCR Q2, according to the 2021 CLARIVATE ANALYTICS.
Neuroscience Bulletin is a founded international journal in neuroscience. The Neuroscience Bulletin Shanghai office is seeking a full-time Executive Associate Editor-in-Chief.
The candidate will work full-time in the editorial office located in Shanghai, China, and will coordinate with the Editor-in-Chief and lead the editorial team. Main duties include: overseeing the manuscript review, making the first decision, assisting the Editor-in-Chief to recruit high-quality papers, develop and implement long term strategic plans, and increase the international impact of the journal.
Key responsibility:
1. Developing and maintaining links with the international neuroscience research communities, and scanning the current literature to aid in identification of suitable material and authors for the journal;
2. Identify key content and keep up to date with current developments in the field of neuroscience, attendance at conferences, relevant meetings and laboratory and institute visits will form a key component of this position;
3. Commissioning material for the journal as required, and organizing special issues if needed;
4. Organizing peer review of articles and other written material and negotiating with authors;
5. Suggesting and helping to develop new initiatives for the further development of the journal;
Preferred qualifications:
1. The candidate should have a PhD in neurobiology and neuroscience, as well as post doctoral work experience abroad, and research work experience of the scientific project leader of domestic and foreign universities or research institutions;
2. Has been deeply engaged in neuroscience research for some years, has keen judgment and insight, strong innovation ability and development potential to rapidly enhance the journal's international influence; Has obtained strong scientific research results, and published more than 3 influential research papers in well-known English academic journals at home and abroad as the first author or corresponding author;
3. Extensive experience in preparing research manuscripts, and a responsible and collaborative personality. Excellent communication skills in both English and Chinese;
4. Working experience in both scientific research and international English academic journals is a plus but not required.
